Urgent Message - Cranford Road Closed

In light of the closure of Cranford Road whilst roadworks take place, the school’s main entrance has to be closed to ALL vehicles. Please do NOT even try to turn in to drop off/pick up on Cranford Road – you simply can’t.  For the moment please make alternative arrangements.Bear in mind that The Causeway is a very busy and dangerous main road, and it would not be safe to drop your child off there.  Far better to make safer arrangements such as picking up within the Tesco/Surgery area.  The Tesco pedestrian gate will be open as normal.

Hampshire Quality Mark GOLD

Congratulations to TPS for being awarded the Hampshire Quality Mark GOLD award for the quality of CPD (Staff Training). The assessors looked at how training impacted on student learning and were particularly wowed by the extent to which our students get involved in how the school makes progress.

Year 8 Learning Pathways 2010 - 2013

Over the next four weeks our current Year 8 students will be choosing some of the subjects they will be studying next year.

On Monday 28th June there will be a Learning Pathways Evening for Year 8 students and their parents. This will run from 6.00pm to 7.30pm and will include a presentation on the choice of subjects available and an opportunity to speak to representatives from all subjects.

All Year 8 will receive a one to one interview with a senior member of staff to discuss their choice of subjects. Parents are welcome to attend those interviews. We are aiming to confirm subject choices by the 19th July 2010.

The Learning Pathways Booklet and a letter to Year 8 parents can be downloaded here:

TPS Astroturf Officially Opens!

Sky Sports and Countdown presenter, Jeff Stelling cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of our state of the art Astroturf and other sports facilities on Thursday 22 April.  The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Petersfield, Cllr Hilary Ayer, plus several local councillors, architects, FA representatives, school governors, former Heads of PE, staff and students.

The guests toured the facilities, watched football, tennis and netball matches, and enjoyed refreshments on the terrace in the glorious sunshine.  Former governor Terry Tidd’s widow, Audrey, also attended and presented a generous cheque as a bequest to the school.  A bench overlooking the Astroturf made from the oak tree has been dedicated to his memory.
